LONDON BABY!!!!

For Spring Break this last year I took the kids to London. Not the best plan for my sanity...but we had a lot of fun
regardless. Isaac's face is proof of that!! Jacob was more than a little obsessed with Big Ben. I have about 20 different shots all from a different angle. This trip taught me that Caitlyn will wear roller skates next trip!!

Grape Stompin'

As always we have been busy running around like crazy. After being shamed into opening my more than dusty blog by Ciera.... I deceided that I had better post something new. 9 months is way too long!! Isaac's 1st grade class visited a vineyard a couple of weeks ago. The kids had a lot of fun walking around the farm and seeing different animals. The best part of course was when they got to squish grapes. After the "stompin'" was done they showed the kids an old press for the grapes. Then came the tasting... fresh squeezed grape juice for the kiddos.

Snow Day

We had a great day in the snow! The kids thought that going to the mountain was fun before... Add snow... They want to go everyday! How many people can say they have sled on an active volcano?

My Little Ballarina

Caitlyn's first dance recital. She did a great job!!

Agrigento

Off exploring again. The Valley of the Temples has to be the most interesting trip on our adventure in Italy so far. It is amazing to see in person. Even the kids showed some appreciation for what it would have taken to build one of these temples.

Quote of the day:
Jacob: If this was my backyard I would never get bored!

Note to Jacob.... This is your backyard, at least for now! Why is it that you complain that you are bored all of the time?

Ortigia Island (Siracusa)

We went exploring Siracusa yesterday. The kids did a great job following us around as we wandered the city. The poor guys were pooped by the time we made it back to the car but it was a beautiful day to get lost. The kids loved to go into the Cathedral. They thought it was crazy that they put bones of the Priests and Cardinals in boxes for everyone to look at. We agreed. :) Caitlyn was ready to leave when she realized that there were entire mummies throughout the building. Suprisingly, they all slept well last night.

Halloween 2008

I am slow as usual, but here are our little cuties in their Halloween duds. They of course had a great time. I think they had more fun giving out candy to trick-or-treaters than they did getting it themselves, however. They love the dress up. It is all about becoming one with the character they are portraying. To get into the mood for spook night they would tell scary stories around the lawn witch.

Mounk Enka

Last Saturday we took a drive up to see Mt. Etna. For those of you that don't know, my little guy Isaac has some speech issues. Not everything comes out how it is supposed to, but sounds really cute. The entire way there he talked about Mounk Enka. We heard it over, and over, and over again. Jacob was our geologist on the trip. Apparently they have talked a lot about the different eruptions that have occurred in the recent past at school in his Host Nation class and he told us all about them as we hiked through some of the craters in the lava. He is excited for Dad to get back so we can show him the craters. Caitlyn was our resident flirt. Our friends the Greathouses came with us and she has a thing for Mr. Chip. I somehow don't think that she needed to fall quite as many times as she did. :) I'm not looking forward to the teenage years!
